ABSTRACT
Anxiety among university students has emerged as a significant mental health concern, exacerbated by academic pressure, financial burdens, and transitional life challenges. Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), originally developed to prevent relapse in depression, has gained attention for its potential in managing anxiety disorders. This paper examines the efficacy of MBCT in reducing anxiety symptoms among university students by integrating mindfulness practices with cognitive-behavioral principles. A mixed-methods approach is proposed, incorporating quantitative assessments of anxiety reduction and qualitative evaluations of students lived experiences. The study finds that MBCT fosters self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience, making it a valuable intervention for improving mental well-being in academic environments.
